    1. Cup Competitions

Please adhere to Seán’s cup deadlines and as he outlined in his email, Any issues organising any games, let him know immediately. Cup deadlines have been and will continue to be rigidly enforced.

    1. League Competitions

Please refer to the website for up-to-date fixtures and the last email contains all contact details for schools.

The onus is on the away time to contact the home team to arrange the fixture (home team can also get in touch first). You will try and find a time and date that suits you both. As per competition rules, flexibility and compromise might be needed with this. All contact details are attached. All league games must be played by EASTER.  All the fixtures are released, you should have most of your league games organised by now. You don't have to wait until the deadline to play your match!

    1. Potential Mismatches

Just a reminder that the core aim of these competition is fun and enjoyment and we ask schools to use common sense in their fixtures especially if there is a mismatch between two sides.

    1. Match Cards

Match Cards are available on the website alongside the competition rules on the rules tab. A photograph of the match card can be sent to any of us after a game. Print some off and leave them in your kitbag as referees will be looking for a match card.

    1. Results

Results are to be send to the following people:

    ·       Girls Leagues - Aidan Duignan –  Aidan.duignan@faischools.ie or 0857150173

    ·      Pitch and Referee Enquires - Fergal Coleman - 0860762602

The onus is on the winning team to send the match result, not the referee.

    1. Referee Fee Increase and Playing Surface

You will ensure that you have an 11 a side pitch to play on and the home team will contact a referee to referee the game – Under no circumstances should a parent or teacher referee a fixture. The fee of €32 is payable to the referee which is spilt between the home and away team. Please see https://ddsl.ie/referees/ for a list of schoolboy referees or get in contact with your local football team as they might have local contacts for referees. We are trying to compile a list of referees in the Dublin area.

    1. Sending the match result in

Please include boys/ girls and the Division for which the game was played in. After the match you will contact the following people via message or email with the result.

Please state division and teams played.

E.g City Division 2B St Olafs 3 – St Ultans

    1. Spectators and crowd control

Abuse of match officials and anyone associated with the game is not tolerated and any instances should be reported to any of us and can lead to expulsion from the competitions. No ref means no game, people are giving their free time to take teams etc so it has no place in the games. The onus is on schools to manage spectators.

    1. FAI 5 a side competition

Best of luck to all schools competing in the 5 a side competitions. This is organised separately by the FAI, more information at https://faischoolsprimary5s.ie/ and any enquiries to the relevant person at  https://faischoolsprimary5s.ie/contact.html or primaryschools@fai.ie

    1. League Tables

We will try and update the league tables on the website as often as possible so keep an eye on them.

    1.  WhatsApp Broadcast

This year, we are trialling the use of WhatsApp Broadcast to improve communication, and Brian will be responsible for operating it. As part of this, all coaches' mobile numbers will be added to a broadcast list. It's important to note that this is not a WhatsApp group, meaning that your information cannot be seen or viewed by anyone else. If you wish to reply to a message, it will only be return directly to Brian individually, not to the list of contacts. To ensure you receive these messages, you must have Brian's phone number saved in your contacts. If his number isn't saved, you will not receive the messages. Please take a moment now to save Brian's number: 0876344771. We hope this new method will help streamline communication and make things easier for coaches.

    1. Just a reminder that we are teachers working full time and are giving our free time to organise the competitions so please allow a few days for us to get back to you and a message is better than a phone call especially during school hours.

Keep the results and good match reports coming in and best of luck to all the schools in the competitions this year.

    Thanks,

    Aidan
